How to paste complex clipboard content?

Works here fine. I create a marker or remember the timecode where that region group has to be copied to. Then I create the region group and jump to the new position using the marker or inserting the timecode and paste. That way you don't deselect all tracks involved in the region. Hope this helps. Or group the tracks, then you don't need to create a region group to start with.

What I do is copy the timecode target location, then select all the elements you need to move, change to spot mode, option-click and paste the timecode location.

Although maybe still not as elegant as the fairlight, you can use the marker technique described above, then group the region, click once on the marker to move your edit insertion point, then click (on a mac) control + option with the grabber tool on the grouped region. This will copy your region group to the edit insertion point. You can also do the same thing if you have a sync point in your region group, although I forget the quick key.

RE: How to paste complex clipboard content?

HI Frank Youve helped me so many times so, I hope Im not completely mis understanding your question and attempting to answer completely off target. When I do this (or what I believe youre wanting to do I) 1) Copy the selected regions to the clipboard. 2) Alt click on the track name tab on left to highlight all tracks 3) Type in new timecode start location on the numerical timecode entry button (ie move cursor to this tc 4) Paste clipboard contents. I apologise if Im completely over simplyfying what is actually a more complex issue im not understanding. Peter
