Preface: have a friend sending me Live band footage that was shot on a Video camera and transferred to a DVD for me to edit them down a bit for him....The entire Disc will play on DVD player on TV. PROBLEM is Can Not open VTS_01_2 File on Any of These? Have (3) Diff. Editor Prg's won't open it and when I play on Puter w. Power DVD player that part isn't available for Playing? So only have 3/4 Parts to Edit.. Any Idea what may be going On? Is it something on My end or the Person sending me the DVD's? Thank you in Advance for Any assistance or suggestions they are gladly welcomed to help figure out *** is going on.
Hi! Sounds like you simply have a bad burn or a physically damaged disc. Tell your friend to PLAY the DVD before sending it to you for editing...

Thank you for the info, but wanted to ask....This has happened on (4) Diff. dvd disc I've been sent from this person and each was a diff band and ALWAYS the same VTS file that I can not edit...Would a Bad burn always result in the SAME file being messed up? Also if a Bad burn why is it that I can watch the ENTIRE show on my DVD player on TV, but not on a dvd player on Puter? Pretty NEW at all this and Just a bit Dazed & Confussed over this...again Thanks to all for the assistance w this question.
trying to get a handle on this so thought I'd ask a Basic question so could possibly offer some suggestions to person sending me these files...from what I understand believe he uses a stand alone DVD Recorder for transferring movies to DVD and NOT a Puter. Question is: What determines that the concert video is divided into (4) seperate VOB files when transferred to a dvd? Is it chapter markers or What? Again Thanks for any assistance to All on this....

for that bit of Information..not sure that gets me any closer to resolving the Issue w VOB_2 files, but can now explain to sender why it's divided that way. Another good day as I have learned something new. Will continue to delve into this reoccuring problem and ANY other thoughts or Ideas are Always welcome to figure this out.
