I remember at some point a while back there was some way of having the video on another machine using Protools on 2 machines and having the video track on a session on the secondary machine and using mmc to lock them together. Can't find it by searching DUC. Can someone point me in the right direction please? Thanks,

Thanks Minister, I know about Virtual VTR from Gallery. What I am referring to was a 'trick' that uses 2 copies of Protools with the one on the second machine only having the video file in it's session and using mtc and mmc to control it by your main machine. Mike

ah...sorry, didn't realize. well, i dunno, but you obviously need to send TC of some kind, like in a traditional tape based master/slave operation. send TC either MTC or LTC out of PT 1 into the sync box of some kind into PT2. then, set up PT to receice the code and put it in wait for sync mode. I used to use my trusty Opcode 64XTC to send out of PT or in to PT. then i switched to OSX, so OMS doesn't work anymore. (if you are working in OS9 and lan to stay there, i just pulled mine out of the rack and want to sell it.) you will need inteface boxes on both ends. ... you know you won't be able to scrub ... but, it would be an easy enough experiment to try if you had two CPU's and 2 midi interfaces and setup everything right. ... guess not very authoratative .. but i hope it helps.
