Thank you for the responses. I talked to ms customer service and they said that the actual dvd's aren't available anymore (so much for anytime). Supposedly according to some online sources they have no problem with giving you a new serial number for 10$. Did you receive an actual dvd Vassago? I want to use my Vista because I paid full price for it, it will do the job I want it to running my Daw and provide with me with more advanced multi core capabilities and 64 bit capabilities for use with both the Daw and my new copy of Vegas 11. Why upgrade to 7 (which I am using now on my laptop) and pay extra money for something that I can already do the job with that I paid for Bluzkat? I have a good friend using Vista 64 with Vegas with an external Sata array and he says after they finished the upgrades with the service packs it is stable as hell. He's editing multi streams of HD.... i7 12 gigs ram etc geforce card. My machine isn't an i7 but I'd like to get my money's worth out of the Vista I bought, after all I hardly used it (it was bought for the gp machine in my old computer shop. Thanks again I guess I'll keep looking... I figured if everyone here seemed to support the slipstreamed xp versions that were posted a long while ago, maybe there was a 64 bit version of Vista floating around. I'm going to try to use a friends 64 bit vista and order a new key for myself from MS. Keep your fingers crossed...thanks for the responses. bm
