Midi Learn Weirdness

Hi all, I'm trying to map my Akai MPK49 to the faders and such....I go to actions...select the action I want to map to a CC# transmitted by the MPK49...hit "new"...the learn box opens I move my controller fader...and reaper doesn't register it at all...nothing :( Now, to double check that I've set the midi devices up right, I arm a track to record the midi data from the MPK49...and Reaper's definitely getting all the controller info being sent...because, it's recorded on the track. But, for some weird reason...i can't get the midi learn bit to recieve my contoller's data... Any ideas? Thanks, in advance for any help All the best, Eric

Unfortunately, I don't have an answer for you but I am in the same boat, though I'm using an M-Audio Oxygen8 keyboard (older model). MIDI can record through it but when I try to set a function to a knob, it's not recognized...any help would be appreciated guys!

and don't use,"New" use,"Add" and then to stop confusion delete the other entries in the left hand box.Worked for me.I now have my Track volumes on the rotary controls of my E-Mu Xboard 25 :D HTH :)

Options/Preferences/Audio/Midi Devices and double click on your keyboard/input device entry and tick the top two entries not the Alias one and go back to the Actions.Does that get it? You can enable the same in the output entry as well if neeed be.

Just for others reading this: The 2 options to be ticked are: - enable Input - enable Input for control messages

Just out of interest.. wondering has an old problem I encountered now been solved? If you are recording MIDI and use the controller faders from the same device, are those CC messages still getting recorded too? I remember encountering this a long time ago on an M-Audio Axiom that I was trying to use as keyboard input and controller at the same time.
