s40 - what to look out for?

Hello all I'm getting a 2002 1.9td s40 in October. It was bought new by my Dad and now has 70000 miles on the clock and has been serviced regularly and well looked after. I drive a 95 960 (the s40'll be the wife's car) and I've had a search for s40 problems and the like on the forum and found some interesting things. What I'm wanting to know is, what are general problem areas for this car? I'm getting it for a ridiculously low price and don't want to look a gift horse in the mouth from my old Da. m.d.

With regular servicing and 70K on the clock I'd say you've got nothing to worry about. have a Volvo reviews section for you to browse. As with all cars, you're bound to have a few niggles here and there, but nothing characteristically problematic that I know of, and certainly nothing that couldn't be advised on through these forums. Let us know when you get it and post some pics. Hope this has put your mind at rest a bit.
