How do I change the Default Midi Keyboard cc parameters?

For all vstis I use all the parameters are filled in automaticly (mod wheel, pitch/volume/pan etc.) Is there any way to change the default settings so it only does the mod wheel and the pitch bend wheel automaticly? That way I could keep some knobs free to assign to vst fx of my liking.

Welcome Maulkie, sorry, I tried, but don't get what you're asking. What do you mean by "filled in automatically"? Where, in the MIDI editor? You can MIDI learn any plugin parameter in the automation window if you set your controller's MIDI input to 'enabled and control' in Preferences -> MIDI Devices tab.

Also, Pitch bend is recorded :) Open the MIDI Editor. In the bottom-left corenr you should see a drop-down list with "Velocity"" in it, click the arrow and select Pitch. If you want to see both Velocity and Pitch, click the [+] button to add another controller lane and select Velocity in one and Pitch in the other. You can change the lane height by dragging the darker line above the lane. HTH

Glad it's now sorted. Blending MIDI data is a difficult affair. Schwa did a very fair attempt with the MIDI touch replace record mode, but it yields questionable results... I just record an entire new item or a new take with punch in and comp them together manually afterwards. EDIT: Recording pitchbend is no problem here in either recording mode.

Absolutely no idea, sorry. Reaper has no MIDI input filter, so I don't think you messed up a setting. Did you doublecheck it records well in 'input' mode but not in 'overdub items' mode? Which version of reaper are you running? EDIT: Maybe it's a good idea to attach your default project to a post, so we can see if it happens on other systems with your default project?

I can find nothing odd with the project. Pitchwheel is recorded properly here. Weird. I can't think of a reason why everything else but pitchwheel should get recorded at your end. Is anything at all recorded in this particular case? I mean, I sometimes stumble over having no item selected in overdub mode. But then nothing at all will be recorded. It won't filter just pitch messages in any circumstance I know of.

EDIT: after doing a driver update of my midi keyboard it's all working fine again. I never had this problem in FL Studio but maybe Reaper triggered something with my midi keyboard & windows when I started to change the parameters.

RE: How do I change the Default Midi Keyboard cc parameters?

Sorry to bump my old topic but I don't think I should start a new one on the same subject. In Hypersonic I could delete the cc info of the volume slider easily. But now I'm working with Musiclab's Realstrat and I can't find any way to delete the cc7 volume parameter so I can free it to use with an effect on the same channel. Where could I find that midi controller js plugin that was mentioned earlier? Or is there another solution. The reason I like to use the volume slider on my keyboard is because the other knobs on my keyboard aren't as easy to use, I find I can get more accurate results with the volume slider.
