presonus/maudio/focusrite/motu/rme control panel integration

What would it take to have these control panels integrated into Reaper. Studio One has integration for their presonus stuff Digital performer for motu Cubase I think works with one of them. It would be really cool if Reaper could internally control something like Total Mix or any of these other DSP zero latency control panel cue mixes. I think it would solve a lot of recording latency issues because I'm sure there are people with some of these units that are still software monitoring through Reaper instead of taking advantage of the onboars dsp of their fiewire racks. Sorry if this is in th wrong area... and for rambling :-)

Cockos would have to buddy up with an interface manufacturer This was discussed a few weeks/months back, about the possibility of them having Reaper included with TascamUS122, Echo audiofires etc etc just like CubaseLE and Sonar used to. Only if the above happened would you possibly ever get a "labeled" cue mixer like you describe. If it does happen, please include the echo audiofire series for me :D

This would probably be a big job, I mean for a single manufacturer you can already have several different control pannels. (I run a TC Electronic and know Impact Twin & Studio Kontrol 48 control panels to be very different).

I think that it is a good idea but it would take a long time to include most of the commonly used audio interfaces and Cockos would have to partner with everyone of them. Also the control panels in Windows are usually placed in the right corner of the startup bar and the Os X versions usually come as separate applications.

This may be possible with RME because their mixer accepts midi control. Don't know much about it though. ...and it's easier to keep it separate in my brain anyways.

maybe Direct ASIO monitoring is more of what I'm thinking about. Most of the time you only need 1 or 2 channels with zero latency monitoring and the rest can have a normal setup. It would be cool if within Reaper, you could record enable a track, then select which monitoring mode you want(ASIO Direct or Software Monitor). and have the track fader in Reaper control the mix volume for that channel to the headphone mix(for Direct Monitoring. maybe i don't know how to describe what I'm thinking..
