Need To Run Logic At Same Time As PT!!!!

Ok...I have Soundblaster Live! for midi and audio, with the AISO drivers so i can use VSTi 's in Logic...which has its native EVP88 and D6 and so on. I want to be able to trigger those sounds in Logic and run out of the SB card into PT to track. HERE"S THE PROBLEM: When I open Logic first, and then open PT it gives me that error about stop playback on multimedia..ect.. and when i open PT first , than logic - it robs Logic of it's midi and audio... I saw a few threads about disabling Pro tools midi and wave drivers, but i tried and PT wont open... HELP!!!!! I gotta get both happening so i can track these killer sounds! Any thoughts, help, ect. I assume you mean to run both these programs at once, synced together, not just installing them on the same PC? Logic could be synced to run from PTLE via MTC/SMPTE/ or SPP/MIDI clock code in Windows 98. I used to do it this way myself running Logic with a M-Audiophile 24/96 sound card with no problems most of the time. I have not been able to to repeat this without very major problems in WinXP, such as clicks freezes etc; In Win98 you could disable the MIDI drivers ( under Multimedia settings in the Control Panel)of the Digi001 so that Logic would not try to use them when it starts, PTLE would still find its MIDI features as usual when started. Whichever program is started first trys to grab the MIDI ports for itself and Logic trys also to use the audio features of the Digi001 when started first. Anyone who has managed to get Logic 5/PTLE 5.3 working synced together please tell me all about how you done it? Cheers John K London N19

Here's a hot tip for you doing bounces in logic. You can actually bounce up to 9 tracks at once in real time if you use the surround features. Setup a 9.1 setup, then assign each track you want output to seperate output. Hit surround bounce and voila you can get 4 stereo pairs and a mono track in one bounce. It's a MAJOR time saver If you go into the audio setup you can setup how you want each output file named (I usually just use 1-9) and keep paper notes to match them up. Cheers, Marcus
