I was under the impression that using reaper X64 would only render my dx effects useless, but when I started to experiment with it, my vst's won't show up either. Are they also useless in a 64 bit environment?
A shame I should need to thicken my skin to use a support forum, since I am a paying customer. Perhaps my perception is a bit off, but it seems to me you made your remark to imply that I was wasting your time and space on the forum. A perception that's been reinforced by the notion that I'm somehow "buggering" up the forum by asking that question. What, did Justin make you the forum police or something. What business is it of yours? Do you administer the forum? No one else got on here and said I was buggering up the forum. There are redundant questions and nonsense topics all over this forum. By your definition, the forum was buggered up long before I made my post. A yes/no answer is all I was looking for. Good day sir.
You're right.... I am very on edge right now b/c I just lost my day job in a layoff for christmas. Anyhow, I would like to extend my appologies to you. I'm just in a very over reactionary state right now. I know you were trying to help and I'm just being an a55hole. I hope you will be able to overlook my current state of stupidity. Happy holidays. Chris

OK to steer this thread back to something useful ... anyone tried the following? Install both REAPER x64 AND x86 (32bit). Then run the x86 ReaMote (this will now run in the x86 compatibility mode AFAIK, on the SAME machine). Now start REAPER x64 (also same machine) and connect to that local ReaMote client. Should work, no? Can't test right now, but I can't see why that shouldn't work. So if anyone wants to test and report back would be appreciated.

Hmmm... more fodder to make me regret installing XP64 on my new whizzy machine. I suppose I can always go back to 32 bit IF windoze will let me.... Funnily enough, it always seems to be this way when trying to do anything even remotely near the cutting edge on PCs. I can remember thinking a few years back that maybe buying a PC was a mistake after years fo effortless computing on a NON PC machine. That machine is still doing just fine on the same OS it had in 1991 and it still does the best job of anything I have used for sequencing. *sigh* It`s all down to bells and whistles I finally convinced myself i HAD to have, so i guess I only have myself to blame. I assume all the same ptifalls will be there under Linux as well. Since I`d have to use Wine or similar?
You can still install and use 32-bit reaper on your 64-bit machine and use the 32-bit plugs. It would be great to be able to use Reaper x64 though since I notices a performance increase, but 32 will have to do b/c I paid mass for my 32-bit plugs.
