I Got an MPC owner coming along and we want to get the beats off his old MPC2000 and into reaper as painlessly as possible, any clues veterans? he has the 8-out card installed, so am tempted to avoid all the midi sync Mtc stuff and just go with the multi-outs. If i were to try midi syncing it, from my searching it seems having the mpc as master and reaper slave seems the best way, that still true? it seems there is flakiness inherent from my reading- so just asking if anyone with prior experience of doing this could advice on the current position with latest Reaper versions and suggest what is actually worth doing really. cheers in advance, any info appreciated. RE: Akai MPC sampler sync to midi etc - best method?
mpc master, midi sync, framerate 30 does the trick for me. mpc1000. careful with the mpc user. we are often a very much a mixed bag of inexperience, volatility, and psycoacoustics...
RE: Akai MPC sampler sync to midi etc - best method?
just to clarify for future reference - synced from the mpc as master to reaper slave using MTC worked fine (changed frame rate on mpc to 30), although inserting a bar of nothing at the start of the mpc sequence was required as it took reaper a few beats to get the location/sync - once that was done all went well and 16 tracks came out (one by one as his multiout wasn't set up, but will be next time, saving an hr or more) and lined up fine. it was also nice to hear how noone else he'd gone to recently had got it working - :) thanks geezers and reaper for mostly just working. refreshing!
RE: Akai MPC sampler sync to midi etc - best method?
god, sorry. forgot to say MTC. zenguru, it's nice to hear that someone has gotten Reaper as master. i think others mentioned trouble with this. i never tried it, as until i have tracked my beat from my mpc to reaper, i never use reaper's sequencer. after, however, i (ab)use the crap out of it.

Hello to everyone first off.But I believe video now in these days speaks volumes! You can explain verbally until your blue in the face but when you do a in depth video a person gets the chance to see and experience the visual side of the details.
