SMPTE is Drifting

I'm running Reaper on a winxp 32 machine. I'm trying to slave logic 4 running on an old mac. I'm routing an audio output from my 1010lt card to the back end of a unitor box, ltc input. Running this way from another daw was flawless. However, in this case I'm getting drift -that is the metronomes on both machines start in sync, but after about twenty measures (80bpm in this case), mac and pc drift out of sync. The Reaper time code generator seems to be setup properly. The same frame rate is set in the Reaper generator (via source properties), the Reaper project settings and in logic. What's especially weird is this: I've got a smpte audio file and using that, instead of the Reaper time code generator, yields the same drift effect. I'm wondering if I'm overlooking some simple setting in Reaper?? Any thoughts? snskrt

Hi Sanskrit, Did you try to set both to another frame-rate than that you are used to? For example, if you normally use 25 fps on both, did you try to set them both to 30 fps?. If you use 29.97 fps, you have to be aware, whether to use 29.97DF (drop frame) or 29.97ND (non-drop frame). Perhaps you have a look once more. -Data

Mr. Data, Thank you for your reply:-) Not sure what happened. Kind of like banging on the hood, and the car just started. All the frame rates -everywhere they could be set, were set the same. However, I did try switching to 30(non-drop)and that did the trick. Huh.... Anyhow, greatguns, because I use logic to run my external synths. The project I'm on now is just kicking Reaper's butt, and having the hardware is proving pretty key. Thanks again. snskrt
