Advice please ? 9 series TDIC

Three Years ago almost exactly, I bought my 940 TDIC as a none runner, long story. It had a broken timing belt and a (of course) a damaged Head. Always the attack the walnut with a Battleship type that I am, during the course of the "Re-Birth", I got from a local Diesel specialist a brand new in Bubble wrap, a complete Cylinder Head. I then completed the repair using (as you do) New Head Bolts, Belts, etc, etc. The Engine started second (or Third) turn of the Key, (air in the pipes) sounded like they "Do" it ran / runs well enough. Sometimes though, on a on a cold start for instance, i think it might not be "Right", the engine "Hunts" (just like a Petrol, with too much choke) for a second or two, no excessive smoke just a roughness (glow plugs checked, seem ok)...those awkward ones were replaced any way. The Car has passed Three M.O.T. Tests and each time the Tester has commented as to how clean the emissions are (haven't got the numbers to hand). Recently I have completed a 500 Mile round journey (dawdling) and achieved 45 M.P.G. SO I don't think much is awry (?) However, my main reason for this post is that when loaded up (its an Estate) I seem to suffer from what I can only best describe as "God awful Turbo lag" and yes, a New Turbo was fitted last Year. T.B.H. whilst this has helped quite a lot (I can hear it working !!) The old unit seemed to be "Spilling" quite a lot of Oil whilst I appreciate that a Turbo doesnt have to be dead to do this, the new one doesn't at all. To conclude and to complete my saga, I didn't have to hand, and therefore couldn't use the "Camshaft locking tool", I timed the Pump by eye and dead reckoning and as I've said no real smoke issues (if you pardon the choice of word) apart from what you would expect to get from a Diesel Engine designed for a Truck. The Car goes well when "Wound up" it will "Do" a good bit more than the Legal limit. The crux of my question is -- "Might it be at all possible that the Head I've got could have the wrong Camshaft in it, as it came all complete ??" Ideas and advice welcomed, as I'm almost sure my Engine isn't right :hissyfit:

Right, another derv head, I notice that a lot of people dont respond to diesel posts, Yes this engine does suffer completley from turbo lag, Ive now perfected pulling off from the roundabout down to the tee! The engine is a dog, and will run and run, and run, but the turbo helps ALOT! God I dread to drive the non turbo of this car! My car hunts at low revs and intermittently, I will need a new set of injectors I think. seems as though at 242,000 miles I think that these are the original ones!!! You will have to perfect the 'pulling off' otherwise you wont win this game of 'tame the diesel beast!' yep the engine was designed to run a small truck, looking at the LT vans I see about, i think, Christ, thats what it belongs in? But it does sound good though!
