Command 9?

Since the price also dropped on the Command 8, anybody else think there's a "command 9" or a "command 8cs1" (or whatever) coming out any time soon? I think it'll probably just be a command 8 with the 003 features tho...

RE: Command 9?

Hi, I think it's called a Command 8 because it has 8 faders: not because of a version release. This model is still relatively new, so I doubt that Digi will roll it over just yet. It is compatible with both LE and HD systems also.

I think it sounds reasonable, but we'll have to wait and see...

Hi, I own a MCU also... the response is a bit slower than the C8, but yeah - more features (and the jog wheel) and you can add XT units up to 32 faders for Pro Tools I believe.

Is the slow response an annoying thing? Have you tried it with any other software? Sorry for hijacking the thread.

RE: Command 9?

No, not at all. I just find the C8 is more responsive with the direct USB connection (more like an ethernet controller a la Control 24) rather than MIDI controller via a MIDI interface. I actually use the C8 for Pro Tools and the MCU for Digital Performer (in another mode - easy to change back to HUI protocol). The faders are nice, very light feeling. Great little controller. More expensive than the C8 I belive (not by much though).

All right, thanks... Just wondering because I use Logic quite a bit as well.
