Now that it looks like v3 is getting mainly debugged and squared away, I'm ready to upgrade from v2. How much effort is there in so doing? What will be lost in my current installation? What are the guidelines for painless upgrade? Thanks for any useful info or links!
Practically zero effort, for sure... But if you are using a v.2 theme some stuff may turn out a little strange on v.3 due to not being define by the v.2 theme. If you use the default theme there's no extra effort.
In v2 when editing envelopes you pressed Alt+drag and you could only move env points horizontaly. In v3 you press Control+drag , but the horizontal restriction of movement seems no to work properly. I don't mind now it's ctrl instead of alt, but seems that the behaviour of the restriction has changed. (yes, i'v read the preferences) That's something you end up using so much at the end of the day Have you experienced this other behaviour?
The only thing I noticed from 2.54 to 3.0 was a metronome pre-roll setting anomoly - reaper V3 complained at startup that there was an undefined setting (PREROLL) i think it was - anyway, entered metronome properties then unchecked then checked preroll and all was fine. Been great ever since. Keys.
