Can anyone tell me how to mix guitars like these?

I love this sound and I'm lazy so I'm asking you all...(-:

Hey, I'm trying to duplicate the sound of the mix of the guitars....They have an incredible prescence and a little delay obviously doubled and an awesome sounding compression! I hear it all the time in todays mixes and they only way I can sound current with my mixes is to can a handle on this...(-:

90% of it is just: nice guitar double-tracked into great amp in a well-treated room, played tight as hell with a great bass sound underneath. there isn't anything special or weird happening in the mix, it's just very well done. get the source right and the mix is easy.

Hey Dub if'n I send you a mix to work on can you duplicate the sound?

kinda a bit flat out with work and mixing my own band but like i said, it's going to come down to what you're recording. what's your guitar rig/recording chain? also what kind of bass recording chain (critical for a good guitar sound - just to get that anchored thing). i'd suggest a good starting point would be... hmm, a gibson into a nice medium/high gain amp, mic'ed up with a combination of a condensor and a dynamic mic. make sure you have room treatment around the amp to stop it sounding boxy.

Thanks Dub, I do have some pretty great sounds for the guitars and I get some cool sounding guits on my mixes but I have heard these guitars (on a lot of songs)and I go YEAH! I want those!! So the quest will continue. I pray things are goin well on ur new Cd mate....Lord Bless
