RE: LE/ Phase, polarity

You can download the free Bombfactory plugins from the download section of this site. They have a phase correlation meter. its only compatible with PT 6.xx though. in your audiosuite menu, you'll have an Invert plugin. that switches the phase, and then on your EQ's you'll also have a phase reverse button. ev

RE: LE/ Phase, polarity

I looked at this last night but wasn't sure how to proceed. I'm trying to see how it will sound on a mono source...do I invert one side, then the other? Or is there some other 'summing' process I need to look at. Feeling very ignorant here, but mixing a song for a video that will, I'm sure be played mono at some times... thanks for your help! grae

RE: LE/ Phase, polarity

you should listen to it in mono to check for phase. so...if you've got a stereo track, set both left and right to 0 then take a listen. ev

If you have waves stereo imager (no shuffler) you can set it to no spread (mono) And leave it on your master fader. Just control click to enable/disable. It's always wise to keep an eye on your mono mix. Can point out some big problems.

RE: LE/ Phase, polarity

Thanks, all. I guess I didn't really ask the right question at first...it was really about knowing how to 'sum' that I needed, so I could check for phase cancellation in mono. Since I'm using 001, and do have Waves Stereo Imager, I'll try those approaches. Great to be around people who know the right answer even when you don't ask the right question. g
