lately i\'ve been wonderin on topic

I get this feeling...this urge to play. And then I remember this cool toy I have that we ducs call pro tools...so then I start the whole process of warming up my 'putor...'cause what if I happen to play something that should have been recorded? So now I got everything humin' and I'm playin'and there is this lapse of time before I press the space key to begin the recording process and after doing so, I get this message pop up stating...held off interrupts too long...all I do is press OK and then press the rec again on the transport window again and all goes well...well sometimes it goes well...'cause some times I suck...why does that message pop up?

defretman, did you check the answerbase and 'search the duc'? People have had this problem before, including me. For me, the problem was a firewire card that didn't groove with my motherboard. I has to switch my firewire card for one that was VIA chipset based since my motherboard is VIA chipset based. Might also be an IRQ problem. Search around and post again if you're stilling having problems.

Have you tried to increase the H/W Buffer size? You find in the menu Setups, Playback Engine. Could be that.

try setting your record time allocation to 15 minutes instead of forever. (in the preferences)
