RE: Reason question... Can any of you help me?
Hey Guys, I'm running Reason 2.5 controlled via rewire with PT LE 6.4. I have some knowledge of how to work in Reason, but I'm still pretty new to the MIDI game. My problem: I have called up a Dr. Rex loop within the Dr. Rex Loop Player. (its a loop from Reason's "Strings" disc.. not one of my own.) Everything seems to be running appropriately- the loop sounds great in preview mode. Now, the trouble is.. I can't send the MIDI data to the sequencing track. I've found several tutorials online all explaining to me that I must: 1) click on the "Dr. Rex" track in the sequencer 2) click on the "Dr. Rex Loop Player" in the rack 3) lastly, press the "to track" button or... "Copy Rex loop to track" in the Edit menu. The loop is supposed to be cut up into its respective splices in the editing window where I can trigger and manipulate it. But.... I can't get any of this to happen!! What am I doing wrong? Does it have anything to do with me controlling Reason thru Rewire? Thanks, Will

If you have in rewire then protools is the sequencer master. try setting your selection in protools, reason should then reflect that, then hit play to track then it should dump the midi in the reason sequencer just fine. if you want the 2 seqencers to be independant then either don't rewire it or on your transport set it to manual tempo mode instead of multiple, so that means make sure that conductor button is not lit blue. peace.
