midi tracks dont follow when i change the tempo

this is very annoying . let'S say i record a midi track a 135 bpm then change the tempo to 160. the notes dont follow the beat when those move in time. there must be a setting that strech's the midi file or someting. as long as the result is that the midi track KEEPs THE BEAT.

-- Right-click the timeline and set it to one of the 2 "Measure . Beats" settings. That should do it.

problem resolved. . it took me 2 minutes to figure it out: i rigth clicked on the midi item , went into item settings and checked " set item timebase to beats" now when i change the tempo my precious little notes follow the beats.
