Sounds really good to me. Being ultra picky, I'm not 100% sure about the overdrive guitar sound from 13s to 29s, but that's probably just personal taste. After that everything sounds great. Excellent stuff. Pete
Is that your band or did you do all of it yourself. I'd say great job! I like the song too. Good harmonies too. You asked waht it needs. How bout Karl on a B3 or some sort of keyboard piano synth. Hell a sax would make it sexy as hell. It's well done,,, you got a good ear. How you liking Reaper?

Stratman, I'm with you on the guitar tone in that section. On one hand I like how the mono distorted part opens up to the wider double tracked sound, but I don't like the existing tone so that will definitely get changed. I may just narrow the panning on the acoustics before that and still use one mono electric on that section only. Hey Kirk from the Planet, hows it going? This is a band project. We've been playing this one at our gigs for a while now. I did the writing, tracking, guitar playing and mixing and my brother (bass player and backing vocals) has helped out big time with production comments and critical listening. I appreciiate your suggestions. I'm not sure there is hole left in there for another part though. LOL. At this point the tracking is pretty much final on this one, except the distorted guitar redo in the first section.
I'm not crazy about the automation either. I've been splitting out sections and and grabbing the volume envelpoe and getting it like I want it. I don't really do much with it but adjust volume anyway. I learned a trick from the forum that you can drag an effect straight onto a split item and it becomes exclusive to the item,,so you can ad the effect just for that section only. Works pretty good for echoes and stuff. I use touch alot cause it doesn't overwrite everything in front of it.

I think it's a great job.Great mix and sound and great performance. If you can't afford a new PC you can save some CPU for now by using an FX track and routing tracks to it that you know are going to use the same FX like say Reverb and compression etc. Also you can save CPU by not double tracking some guitars and use the great,"Donationware" VST from Benvesco,
