hi I have this killer track of hip hop that I recorded and mixed but the guys told me that beat wasn't origional so before they try and put it on a cd I need to change the beat . I don't know the BPM but what's worse ( I think ) is it's not like my midi files that just start as soon as you hit play you know it's not "lined" up to the bpm even if I knew what it was . oh and ps - is there anyway to see the grid in slip mode?? so I could line it up?? thnx
I don't really understand your question, but when I want to change the beat of a drum sample, I use Serato Pitch and Time to slow it or quicken it. I usually define a measure, set to loop playback, and keep adjusting with P n' T till it feels right.
no what I did was find the BPM of this beat which had vocals on it on seperate tracks all analogue . then I slip it to match a session in 103.20 BPM now I added a bass line and new drums but I'm not liking the drum beat I tried using 3 sets of drums on 5 stereo tracks 1st [bleep] trck has kick and snare and the other four trcks are 2 kicks and 2 snares I have one the kicks the most active one linked to a compressor on the bass which helped but I think I have to just junk the beat and start over ( the beat I made not the one the vocals were recorded to that is inactive ) but anyway this would not have been a problem so much if there is a fast way to ge the BPM of a song and if I could see the tempo grid in slip mode , I know there's line there but they don't match the grid can you see the grid in other modes??
